Exams, Extra Activities and Mi Band 2.

*yawn*

Back after 2 days of not blogging but in all honesty there was nothing to blog about!

Was a typical long weekend kinda thing spent clearing the house, visiting uncle and cousins, making noise and just lepaking

Final exams are around the corner but before that happens, the UPSR exams are in like
11 DAYS!

Teachers are panicking, parents are losing sleep and the kids.. well.. they continue being kids!

I know a boy, JH who is a really bright boy and scores really well in exams.. people may call him a nerd but he's actually very knowledgeable! In everything!

Well, few days back, was going through Instagram and there he was, sitting in the middle of his porch, with a hose, playing with water.

Kids will be kids! and sometimes when it's nearing the exams, they are stressed and just want to let it out by doing silly things.

The Eldest always needs to go to the arcade and play Time Crisis.

I am probably raising a Sniper.

this was taken yesterday coz The Eldest was slacking off

She woke up, saw this and the message stuck in her head.. revision has been done at a frequent pace and even woke up early this morning to get stuff done too!

(She is sitting right next to me doing Math at this very moment)

The stress of exams mainly hit parents and teachers.. I think the teachers get it worse as they do not know what will be questioned during the exams.. and hope that whatever they've taught has somehow managed to get stuck in their students heads!

I know I feel like this most of the time with those I have tutored and when they make the same mistakes over and over again.. I literally want to strangle them.

Parents freak out too.. I know my mate Lyah is on the verge of crying very soon as she's really stressed  and has constant headaches about her son taking the UPSR exams!

But you know, the kids need to have a balanced lifestyle.

Take The Eldest for example..

I do not encourage unnecessary extra classes or activities.

She asked to be sent for BM tuition, and taekwondo.. so these are the only 2 things she goes for. Other than that she runs around the house, makes a mess, jumps about with The Youngest, goes out with us, spends time with her uncles and aunties whenever possible, but mainly...she's usually just a kid.

She's asked to go to the badminton academy but we've yet to check that out and think where to slot in this particular extra activity.

Also, it will depend on behaviour, and exam results!

I don't believe in simply letting kids do whatever they want.
You want it? You jolly well work hard for it.
Your results drop, or you start misbehaving, I'll cancel all your classes.

dont test my patience levels.

How do those parents with kids who have every class on the planet survive?

More importantly, how do the KIDS survive?
Aren't they like superbly tired or something?

Piano, art, mental arithmetic, ballet, gym, martial art, badminton, tennis, swimming, etc etc

There are only 24 hours in a day, 8-10 of which we spend sleeping.. so we have like what.. 14-16 hours left.. with all these activities, when do they be kids?
Or rather, when do they sit, talk and just irritate their parents?

I would hate it if I hardly saw my kids during the weekend and I know The Husband would turn into a grumpy old man if his kids weren't around.

God help me when they've all grown up, and moved out.

Parenting is hard.. Why didn't anyone specifically tell me this before  I had kids?!

The Youngest has been rather well behaved, and nowadays after her shower, she has to throw away her diaper and put her used clothes into the washing machine..

4 days now and she's done it without complaining!
Although her arms are tiny and require some help actually chucking the clothes into the machine but at least she tries!

Lately, we (The Husband and Myself) have been putting on the KG's and so we decided that okay, we'll take at least 5000 to 10,000 steps a day and try to watch what we eat.

So we got this. The Mi Band 2.
Rather, I got this. For us.

Then The Eldest sees it and gets all excited then sulky about it, so we got one for her too.

Thank God for all the sales recently! Got it at slightly more than 50% off!!

Since all the straps are the same colour (booooring)  I decided to check AliExpress.. and oh my.. you can get a really nice cute colourful strap for about RM5 or less!!!

Shopping spree I tell you.

Only problem with shopping on AliExpress is.. the waiting for items to arrive part.. can be anywhere from 2 weeks to 1.5 months.

Good thing about the band is that when you set an alarm, it will vibrate.. then u hit the button and it will snooze for 10 minutes then vibrate like mad again.. for as long as you do not take a step.. the band will vibrate every 10 minutes..

nak tak nak.. kena bangun.

This feature is the best one yet for The Eldest.
damn susah wanna wake up every morning this child.

Right then, It's 9.37am.. I've got to go give The Youngest a shower, then proceed to get their lunches ready before they get all dramatic and faint from hunger.
